X5 has reported third quarter (Q3) and nine months 2014 results for the period ended 30 September 2014.

Q3 2014 Results

  • Consolidated net sales increased 23.1% y-o-y to RUB 152 billion. LFL increased 13.3%.
  • Hypermarket (Karusel) reported sales of RUB 16.2 billion, an increase of 8.6% y-o-y. LFL sales increased 4.5% y-o-y.
  • Supermarket (Perekrestok) reported sales of RUB 26.6 billion, an increase of 8.1% y-o-y. LFL sales increased 4.3 % y-o-y.
  • Soft discount (Pyaterochka) reported sales of RUB 106.5 billion, an increase of 30.3% y-o-y. LFL increased 17.7% y-o-y.
  • Convenience (Express) reported sales of RUB 2.5 billion, an increase of 26.3% y-o-y. LFL increased 4.6% y-o-y.
  • Online operations reported sales of RUB 200.3 million.
  • A total of 226 stores were added during Q3 2014, 214 soft discounters, 2 supermarkets, and 10 convenience
  • In Q3 2014, X5 closed 9 Soft discount, 4 Supermarket, and 6 Express stores
  • Net selling area increased with 80,019 square meters, an increase of 143.6%

YTD 2014 Results

  • Consolidated net sales increased 17.8 % y-o-y to RUB 451 billion. LFL increased 9.2%.
  • Hypermarket (Karusel) reported sales of RUB 49.7 billion, an increase of 8.2% y-o-y. LFL sales increased 5.3% y-o-y.
  • Supermarket (Perekrestok) reported sales of RUB 83.3 billion, an increase of 4.6% y-o-y. LFL sales increased 1.8% y-o-y.
  • Soft discount (Pyaterochka) reported sales of RUB 309.9 billion, an increase of 23.5% y-o-y. LFL increased 12.3 % y-o-y.
  • Convenience (Express) reported sales of RUB 7.3 billion, an increase of 29.3% y-o-y. LFL increased 3.8% y-o-y.
  • Online operations reported sales of RUB 869.3 million, an increase of 5.5%.
  • A total of 461 stores were added during 9 month 2014, 460 soft discounters, 4 Express stores.
  • In 9 months 2014, X5 closed 25 Soft discount, 10 Supermarkets, 2 Hypermarkets and 40 Express stores.
  • Net selling area increased with 153,116 square meters, an increase of 37.8%
  • At the end of the period the retailer operated a total store base of 5,005 out of which 4,342  soft discounters, 389  supermarkets, 81  hypermarkets, and 193 convenience stores.
