Aldi Süd will continue its expansion plans in the UK. The discounter will open 55 stores this year and this rate will continue over the medium term. However, the possibility to open up to 65 stores a year is “not out of the question” as the retailer continues to achieve record sales growth.
To facilitate rapid growth in its existing network, Aldi is also extending its stores, which includes more car park spaces and more checkouts, to cater to a growing customer base. Aldi is also looking to hire 5,000 new staff this year.
