To expand its customer fulfillment centre (CFC) in Dordon, Warwickshire, Ocado will hire 600 staff from Nuneaton. Using the custom-built technology, the distribution center facilitates online deliveries for Morrisons and Waitrose.
- The new recruits will majorly include ‘personal shoppers’ who will receive, pack and load shopper’s orders based upon the advanced technical systems in the centre. Currently, the retailer has 900 workers in the center, and plans to increase it to 1500 by the end of 2014.
- For transportation, the retailer has worked with Stagecoach, a bus company, to carve out direct bus service from the Nuneaton bus station to the distribution center, for the new recruits. The bus will run from Monday to Saturday, 5 times a day and 4 times a day on Sunday.
