Lidl’s venture into grocery eCommerce is continuing apace with the launch of a delivery service in the Spanish capital of Madrid. The discounter has partnered with intermediary Lola Market for the service, which will cover both ambient and fresh and has now been extended to cover all districts of the city after an initial test phase. Eventually, the aim is to provide the option in all cities where Lola Market operates.

The launch in Spain maintains Lidl’s evolving eGrocery strategy that has seen delivery services launched in several European markets, usually in partnership with a local fulfilment specialist, like online grocery platform Supermercato24 in Italy, and Buymie in the Irish Republic.
